Welcome
The Central Coast Human Resource Association (CCHRA) is a local, nonprofit organization serving California's Central Coast HR professionals with members from the Monterey Peninsula, Salinas, and surrounding communities. CCHRA is affiliated with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and we have been awarded the status of a SHRM “Superior Merit” Chapter. CCHRA brings human resources professionals together to help them stay abreast of ever-changing employment legislation, network with colleagues, and provide a forum for exchanging information about the most up-to-date trends and ideas used in HR management today.

Board Meetings are a time for the volunteer leaders of CCHRA to come together to coordinate chapter operations. The President facilitates the Board Meeting using Robert’s Rules of Order. The Secretary records in the Board Meeting minutes a record of the proceedings. Please RSVP with the President if you are a member or volunteer that would like to attend a board meeting. All board meetings are held at the Law Offices of Fenton & Keller, Highway 68. Unless otherwise noted, board meetings are at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

Employment Law Update Special two-hour program January 14th, 2010
Roberta Hayashi, Esq. This 2-hour presentation will focus on recent developments in federal and state case law and legislation affecting employers in the State of California. Among the topics to be discussed are: · Recent amendments to the Americans with Disabilities Act · Individual liability under the Fair Employment and Housing Act · Latest developments in meal break and rest period requirements · Amendments to the California Family Rights Act · Expanded bases for retaliation claims under Federal laws · Workplace safety About the Speaker Roberta S. Hayashi has over twenty-five years experience representing Silicon Valley employers in employment and business litigation. She has trial experience in wrongful termination, discrimination, and misappropriation of trade secrets and proprietary information actions in both state and federal court. Ms. Hayashi has been named one of the "Top 50 Women Litigators" in California by The Daily Journal. Kara L. Erdodi represents individuals and businesses in employment and general litigation, including wrongful termination, unfair competition, misappropriation of trade secrets, and discrimination. Ms. Erdodi has experience litigating and representing employers before the Labor Commissioner on issues including unpaid overtime and vacation. She advises and counsels on employee classification, leaves of absence, wage and hour law, and reduction in force.
