The Central Coast Human Resource Association (CCHRA) is a local, nonprofit organization serving California's Central Coast HR professionals with members from the Monterey Peninsula, Salinas, and surrounding communities. CCHRA is affiliated with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and we have been awarded the status of a SHRM “Superior Merit” Chapter. CCHRA brings human resources professionals together to help them stay abreast of ever-changing employment legislation, network with colleagues, and provide a forum for exchanging information about the most up-to-date trends and ideas used in HR management today.

BOARD MEETINGS:

Board Meetings are a time for the volunteer leaders of CCHRA to come together to coordinate chapter operations. The President facilitates the Board Meeting using Robert’s Rules of Order. The Secretary records in the Board Meeting minutes a record of the proceedings.

Please RSVP with the President if you are a member or volunteer that would like to attend a board meeting.

All board meetings are held at the Law Offices of Fenton & Keller, Highway 68.

Unless otherwise noted, board meetings are at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

Workplace Violence Prevention

Workplace violence has and continues to be a serious threat to the safety and well-being of workers– it can happen in your organization.

This program is designed to help you identify:

Contributing factors in workplace violence
Profiles & Warning Signs
Policies, Systems & Plans help prevent violence

Participants will walk away with the tools and resources needed to help find a solution and strengthen already existing workplace violence prevention policies and practices.

About the Speaker

Jim Merrill is the co-author of a book "When Work Equals Life - The Next Stage of Workplace Violence," and has written articles on the subject, He has conducted many seminars nationally on Maintaining a Non-Violent Workplace.. He has provided seminars and trained threat assessment teams in organizations including Symantec, United Defense, LP, U.S. Postal Service, Bart, Sony, Office of Personnel Management, FEDEX, IRS, Department of the Army, San Jose State University Professional Development Center, Society for Human Resources Management Chapters, American Society of Industrial Security, and American Management Association.

In addition, Jim was an Instructor at San Jose State University, Past Adjunct Professor at Cornell University, Past President of SHRM, Santa Clara Valley Chapter of SHRM and a Director on the Area 6 Board of Society of Human Resources Management, and a member of the Advisory Board-San Jose State HR Certification Program. Jim currently is a Labor Arbitrator and serves on several Labor Panels adjudicating Labor Disputes.
